Sporty friends will be able to find the best surfing spots! Nothing beats the Landes waves and the pleasure of surfing on the Landes coast, whether you are talking about Hossegor, Seignosse, Capbreton or Biscarrosse!

For a calmer session on the water, we recommend canoeing, canoeing or stand-up paddling at the canoe rental base in Sorde l'Abbaye "2 x Aventures".

Lovers of relaxation will appreciate the spas in Saint-Paul-lès-Dax and Dax.

The Férias

Each village in the South West has its own festival, an integral part of the Landes way of life. These are moments of conviviality and reunion where tourists and locals mingle with pleasure. The bullfighting and festive culture is very marked in the Landes, and particularly in Dax, during the féria in mid-August: red and white are the colours of your outfit!

Night markets

The summer season is favourable for night markets, which showcase local craftsmen and their passionately produced products. You can find these markets all along the Landes coast, but also in Dax or Saint-Paul-lès-Dax.

Landes folklore

The Landais invented their own bullfighting, long before bullfighting was established in the South West: a game between man and cow, without killing. This traditional sport of the Landais has remained the major event of village festivals since the 1830s. The game consists of provoking the animal and deftly dodging it at the last moment.
The cows live in the pine forest, in farms called ganaderias, and participate in the races for several years. The spreader performs spectacular acrobatic figures: somersaults, angel jumps, twisting jumps, jumping into the beret with both feet...

Musée de la Chalosse - Montfort-en-Chalosse

26 kilometres from the campsite, this museum completes your visit to the Ecomuseum of Marquèze.

Ecomusée de la Grande Lande - Sabres

75 kilometres from the campsite, take the little train for a diversion to Marquèze and its Ecomusée de la Grande Lande. The daily life and traditional activities of the Landes countryside in the 18th and 19th centuries are described.

Maison et Archéoparc de La Dame - Brassempouy

Enjoy the Jardin de la Dame with your children, 43 kilometres from the campsite. It's a very fun and non-academic way to show your children about prehistory.

Abbaye d'Arthous - Hastingues

Located 35 kilometres from the campsite, the old abbey, now restored, has regained its former splendour and tells the story of 9 centuries of history, which its walls and the surrounding Pays d'Orthe have witnessed. The museum uses all the current multimedia resources and interactive devices that appeal to both children and their parents.

Ferme découverte Ducazaux - Donzacq

Ideal farm for children in the Chalosse region, 32 kilometres from the campsite.

Bayonne

38 kilometres from the campsite, you will be charmed by the Petit Bayonne, around the Nive river, and the narrow cobbled streets where pedestrians are free to stroll and discover the shops and craftsmen. You can take the opportunity to visit the Chocolate Museum.

Musée de l'Aviation légère de l'armée de terre – Dax

a unique collection of old planes and helicopters in Europe, evoking the past of military aviation from 1939 to the present, less than 10 kilometres from the campsite.

The unmissable Pic de la Rhune:

Located 75 kilometres from the campsite and a few kilometres from Hendaye and St-Jean-de-Luz. Climb aboard one of the wooden carriages of the authentic 1924 cog railway: 35 minutes of pure pleasure at 8 kms/h, to discover an exceptional 360° panorama of the Basque, French and Spanish coasts and the Pyrenees.

Borda Museum - Dax:

8 minutes from the campsite, discover several centuries of Dax history through prehistoric, Gallo-Roman and medieval remains.

Informations about sanitary pass

Sanitary pass is compulsory for people aged 18 and over. In order to guarantee everyone's safety, we carry out a check at the start of your stay.

The Pass can take one of the following forms:

  • A certified vaccination certificate (complete schedule, 7 days after the second dose)
  • A negative RT-PCR or antigenic test of less than 48 hours
  • A positive RT-PCR test attesting to recovery from Covid-19, dating at least 11 days and less than 6 months
